LEARNING COOPERATIVE METHODS AS AN ALTERNATIVE METHOD OF LEARNING IN ENGLISH

Cooperative learning is the instructional use of small groups so that students work together to maximize their own and each other’s learning. Students must work in groups to complete tasks collectively toward academic goals.

Furthermore, the teacher's role changes from giving information to facilitating students' learning


The skills of cooperative learning for teaching english


In the cooperative model, students are given text to read and understand the reading text. And after reading the students then writing. In writing for the students write pedominantly to spread their learning of grammar and vocabulary of the language. After that students discuss, with discussion, it can improve students' speaking and listening skills. Listening not only helps to understand what people are saying, it also helps to speak clearly to other people. It helps students in learning how to pronounce words properly, how to use intonation, and where to place stress in words and sentences.
