Give your reasons to support your opinion in choosing a teaching model to teach English skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking)


Answer:

Direct instruction teaching model is a learning approach in which the teacher provides lessons in a simple, sequential order. In the sense that the application of Direct instruction is a modeling learning where the teacher acts as a model and guides students in mastering knowledge, especially those related to skills and concepts. This teaching model aims to help students learn basic skills and knowledge that can be gradually taught Direct Instruction as "mentoring-enhanced performance modeling". The teacher has an important function in the Direct Instruction model as a daily reviewer, providing new material, providing practical guidance, providing feedback and corrections, giving students opportunities to practice, doing weekly and monthly tests.


In my opinion, this learning method really helps students in teaching English skills such as (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) because we can connect the four of them with the steps of the method above because the fourth skill is really needed for basic learning in English. In this method, we as teachers can provide new material such as listening, we can use the practice guide method by providing films or audio while reading and writing we can provide feedback or corrections about the film or audio that students hear then for practice we can instruct students in a way of speaking for their practical skills.
