Provide your rationales to support your opinions in choosing a teaching model for teaching English skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).

Answer :

I chose Direct Instruction as a learning model.

Why ?

Because in my opinion, this model provides knowledge in stages that are focused on the interactions between teachers and students in order to provide useful and effective teaching.

This model prioritizes reading in teaching skills and knowledge. Different things in learning English, this model is more on listening and speaking which are practiced by students so that they are able to communicate in everyday English, but this model pays more attention to correct pronunciation rather than correct structure.

So that students are more active in learning English, they are given a picture in the reading book by mentioning what is seen in the picture using English words. Then what should students do?

In my opinion, students should start to argue about the picture that was seen earlier. Why ? So they have the vocabulary to organize into sentences. that way they will learn a lot of vocabulary while memorizing and understanding it, so that they are able to communicate in English and listen a lot.
