Advantages and Disadvantages of The Internet 


Currently the internet has spread widely in the world, including in Indonesia. Because of its easy access, the internet is loved by people all over the world. However, the internet usually has advantages, as well as downsides. There are so many advantages to using the internet, as we can find various kinds of articles, knowledge and information.

The internet is also very useful for students to help them find assignments and find a lot of research for students. Another advantage of the internet is that we can communicate with people around the world and in other countries using social media such as Facebook and Twitter. Moreover, the internet can usually communicate with our family and friends from afar to keep in touch with us.

Before the internet came along, to communicate with someone who was not in the same place as you, you had to give them a call. Or if you want to send them a note, you'll have to send a letter by post. However, we now have the ability to send and receive messages via e-mail (we call them e-mail) without the need for postage.

Another advantage, you can learn on the internet. Using search engines like Google and Internet Explorer, you can virtually ask or type your question and find websites with answers to those questions, in no time. There are also millions or so of videos on the site, people will find them on Youtube, which help explain a wide variety of topics and many different subjects.

Through the internet, shopping has also received a total change thanks to the contribution of the internet. You have many websites that sell various kinds of products online, such as Lazada, Shopee, Tokopedia, Zilingo and many more. E-commerce gets a facility because of the internet and all global business deals can be done via the internet.

However, from all its advantages and positive aspects, the internet also has its dark and bad sides. Some students will spend too much time over the internet. Students tend to neglect their studies. Students may lose concentration on their studies because they spend too much time on the internet. Some of them couldn't even allocate their time to do homework.

With a large amount of information freely available on the internet, theft and misuse are quite possible. Sometimes you look at cases of people using other people's information and research and passing it on as their own. This may be illegal, but people seem to feel free to copy other works, because no one knows what they are doing.

Children today seem to lose the ability to communicate with others. They are used to communicating with other people via the internet but they cannot communicate with other people smoothly. It is a strange sight that the internet makes people lose their ability to communicate. It's because people have now ended up depending on the internet.
